You don’t need to have a flower girl or ring bearer, but I think your son is not too old if he would feel honored to have the job!

I’m not having a flower girl because I don’t have any young girls in my family or friend circle. At first I was a little sad about it, but it’s really not a huge deal.

My “flower girl” will be 12 and my “ring bearer” will be 14. lol. They are my niece and nephew and will be walking our dogs down the aisle as well. We really wanted them to be a part of the wedding and they were super excited to do it. According to my sister they will NOT stop talking about it, which makes me so incredibly happy. I don’t think 9 is too old. I think as long as you present it/him in a more “mature” way, it’s totally fine.

Wow. At my fsil a few years ago her nieces were 1 and 3 at the time and they didn’t cry at the ceremony or the reception. They walk down the aisle with no problems.
