Ladies I need some advice please…
We currently do not have a flower girl for our November wedding. Originally we wanted my 8 yr old neice to be the fg but now my sister & her ex-husband are having a custody dispute & he says she isn’t allowed to be my fg or attend the wedding (long drama filled story) We were trying to find a replacement & the two options are to A) change out 11 yr old daughter’s role from jr b-maid to fg or B)use my other neice who will be 13 months at the time of the wedding.
Would it be better to have a fg that is a little older (11) or have the baby do it & have my daughter walk w/her even though this could go bad b/c children are unpredictable LOL. My 8 yr old neice is sad b/c she wanted to fg.
Thanks for any advice!! 🙂

It would be cute if you had the baby do it, and have her walk with the Jr. Bm. It would let more of a spotlight on the Jr bm this way too, and it would make her feel more special. And who doesn’t love little teeny kids in the wedding? Also, maybe she can carry a ribbon wand or pom instead of throwing flowers since that might be too hard for her.

Keep in mind, you DON’T have to have a fg. But if you do, I think it might be cute for your daughter to walk the little one down, as long as the girl is comfortable with your daughter. Our 5 year old nephew pulled his 5 month old brother down the aisle in a wagon. It was about the most adorable thing ever!!! And you know what? Even if the little girl messes up, people will still think she’s adorable 🙂

@tera7363: I am not having a flower girl, I have a daughter and at the time of my wedding she will be 13 and too old to be one. I have a few friends who have daughters but they are all over the place right now and I dont think they will be around for the wedding.
I would say if you really want a flower girl, you can use the baby or wait to see what happens with your niece. If you dont use one, thats fine as well.

Awww poor thing! Its already hard enough being a child of divorce!
I would go with the older one! Could the older one be held by the 11yr old or be pulled in a dressed up wagon or something cute behind them??
Just a thought!

Thanks for the quick responses I agree, it’s cute if little ones mess up and I do think our daughter would feel special being able to help like that. The problem is they 2 girls haven’t met b/c we live at opposite ends of the east coast. But my daughter is good w/little kids & helps in the nursery at church so she has been around that age group at least.
Yes, I know I don’t need a fg but I would like one if possible 🙂
