Ladies – Our flower girl will be 5.5 at our wedding. I am in love with a tutu flower girl dress I saw on etsy. Do you think 5.5-6 is “too old” for the tutu style dresses? It will be ankle length with cap sleeves. She is also a tiny little girl.
Here is an idea of what it may look like (sorry couldn’t get the actual pic to upload):

It’ll be adorable. If the kid likes it and wants to wear it, then no, she isn’t too old.

I think it’s cute! Then again, I had a 7 and 9 year old wear floor length tutu’s for my wedding. Go for it!

@bunnyharriet: Thanks for uploading the pic! 🙂
I see it more of a mini tulle ballgown then a tutu, and if grown women can wear tulle so can a 6 year old right?!
Thanks everyone for your responses – so happy you all think it’s cute too. FI is in love with it, as well! I just started doubting myself for a second there. I will of course ask the Flower Girl and her mom what they think and if they hate it I will keep looking. However, I just stalked the flower girls mom’s facebook page and see the little girl in multiple pictures wearing tutus – I take it she likes them! 😉

and for Yes people – please explain why, would love to hear anyone that thinks it is not appropriate for a 6 year old!

Not necessarily, but let her see it before you buy it. Last thing you want it to have to force her into the dress when she doesn’t like it.

It’s so pretty. I think she’ll be fine in that style! My 8 year old niece was wearing a tutu style skirt this summer so i think this would be fine!
