These are really cute and I love the color. I was going to do something similar to this for my flower girls: find inspiration pictures and have the girl’s moms do the shopping, but it turned into somewhat of a disaster and no one could find the right color and they ended up wasting a lot of time and I felt terrible…it’s better for everyone involved for you to just pick the dress you want and have them purchase it. And because I am super picky and couldn’t find anything I liked I ended up having them made…this could be where you compromise with your Future Mother-In-Law. Take a look at this etsy shop:

Faith (from Bella Bean Couture) ended up making our flower girl dresses and she will customize the style, color, flowers, everything…and you won’t have to worry about purchasing fabric, the dresses looking homemade, and all that jazz… It was really as simple as me messaging Faith and letting her know what I wanted and then she set up a customized listing for your flower girls to go in and purchase, all you will have to do is send them a link. She will want the gals measurements, but their moms can worry about that.

We ended up going with ivory dresses for the girls all slightly different, see pictures and more info here:

My dress was an off white ivory color and I’m sure Faith wouldn’t mind sending you swatches, but the truth is if you would prefer the dresses be off white they don’t need to match your dress perfectly. No one is going to be looking with a magnifying glass. However, I really do like the idea of the light blue, could be very pretty! Hope this helps!

I think you’re in luck because of Easter. That means that most of the department stores will be carrying cute, poofy, fancy, pastel dresses for little girls. I would say to just go browse. All the major department stores (JC penny, nordstroms, macy’s) should carry dreses like that. Also, it sounds weird, but Costco has dresses like that for little girls too. They are super cute and pretty inexpensive. I’m sure that if you go in the next few weeks, you shouldn’t have a problem finding cute flower girl dresses at a store, rather than ordering them from a bridal salon. And I love those little blue ones (and I don’t think they are too young for a 7 year old). Super cute! Plus I am a huge fan of non-white flower girl dresses.

@CrochetLulu:  stole my thunder. I was just going to suggest checking out the Easter dresses. Also check stores like T J Maax, Marshalls and K Mart. You will find very cute dresses at reasonable prices.

i think pinkprincess.com has both of the dresses you posted and they offer free returns. Could you order one and if it doesn’t work return it?

It might not have exactly what you’re looking for, but in addition to the department stores, I’d check out DB.  I know a lot of their Flower Girl dresses come in all the same colours as the bridesmaid dresses – not that you want your Flower Girl wearing the same colour but I just mean there is a good selection of colours.  I’m pretty sure DB has a pale blue colour like the one you listed above – just a thought!

And in answer to your question about whether or not the first dress you posted is too young for the 7 yr old – I don’t think so.  Our Flower Girl was six and she wore a very similar style and looked adorable.  Just my personal opinion but I think FGs should look like little girls because that’s what they are – I hate the Flower Girl dresses that look like mini-adult dresses!  I also think the second dress you posted is equally adorable – both styles would work well with both girls I would think.
