In my case the flower girls parents paid for the dress and I paid for their sash and hair band. I wanted to stay under $50, but the dress I chose was out of stock, the next one up was $59, so thats how much they spent.  I think it shouldne be more than $50-$75

We bought the dress, the hair band, and all her little gifts (jewelry, fun makeup, etc) for the flower girl!  Our dress was like $40 at JCPenney

Traditionally, the parents of the little girl pay, so most parents know that and are fine with it. That said, I tried to keep the cost way down, and I am buying the accessories and a gift for each girl. I also got them books about being flower girls to prepare them.

I will be buying both dresses for my flowergirls.. but one of them is my daughter and the other is the daughter of one of my bridesmaids! I think if fg’s mom was not in my wedding party I would expect them to contribute but not pay for all of it because my fg dresses are like 200$ I think that is way too much to ask of someone. I think anything over 65$ is too much to ask of the parents.

    typically?  the parents.

for us, we’re buying on dress (duh, she’s our daughter, lol) and the other will be up to her mom.  our only demand: NOT a disney princess gown/dress with the character on it.

we MIGHT be nice and buy one (that isn’t as cute as our daughter’s, cause I’m EVIL), though.  (now that I just typed that, I’m thinking we might just go that route…. did I mention it’s my FSIL’s daughter who is a total and complete BRAT?)

OH NO!!! I had no idea what the norm was. I am friends with the flower girl and her mom is paying for her dress. The dress was 79 at davidsbridal. Is this to much?? we were going to do a sah to but i told her its not a necessity cuz i didnt know what they could afford and what not.. while in there her mom bought the dress and a flower for her hair and is really excited now. is this to much? how much do you guys spend on the flower girl gift?

Ooh. I think anything over $50 is way too much! Even $50 is on the high end. They’re going to wear it once. Maybe…MAYBE a second time at say Easter or something similar but probably not. My flower girl dress (when I was 8) I wore once after and I believe it was a wedding and it was too small even 3 months later. But I definitely say the parents pay for it. Gifts? I’d say about $30 for maybe a nice pair of earrings and necklace. Then maybe $10 for small gifts so they feel good like nail polish or the similar.

Looks like half my post got eaten.

Anyways, the dress is super cute and we also plan on having our florist create flower head bands for each girl and we’re getting them each a thank-you gift which has yet to be determined!

Well normally the flower girl’s parents however, I found mine at kohls after easter for $15.00 and it was the last one in my flower girl’s size.  I am going to have her parents buy a peticoat for under the dress and her hair accesories.

The flower girl’s parents paid for our flower girl’s.  We went shopping together and she picked out the dress and got my approval.  The dress she chose was like $90, I think.  She could have chosen something cheaper if she didn’t want to spend that much as I let her pick it out.  She wasn’t too concerned with costs.
