- Wedding: July 2009
I worked as a live in nanny for 2 years before having a “real job”, of course I grew very close to the family I worked for and knew I wanted to ask the little girl (“Sarah”) I watched (now age 4) to be my flower girl. Knowing she has never been to a wedding I searched Amazon for the “best” flower girl book and ordered it.
I have to now interject I have a VERY unusual name and when people generally meet me they say “oh that’s a nice name, it was my great-aunt’s/great-grandmohter/ect. and they’re now dead”. So I grew up without my name in books, without those cool “name cards” or anything like that.
I open up the book and read the first line “Sarah’s Aunt MY NAME, has invited Sarah over”…. I couldn’t believe it. This book is perfect. I called ‘Sarah’s’ mom (I had told her about my previous name disappointments) and she said I could now be AUNT “my name”.
Work may have been hard, but now I have an unofficial niece and a great book to read to her this weekend.
Anyone else have this happen when they ordered wedding books?
