I’m shopping for flower girl gifts and I can’t decide what to buy. They’re both fairly girly and they are both under the age of 6. Do I get them a hand-stamped necklace with a charm from Etsy ($20+ including shipping) or do I get them toys that they always talk about when we see them? The toys come in various price points ($5+) so we can get a few of them for the price of the necklace.
If I do decide to go for both, I probably won’t do the hand-stamped necklace since they are pricier and will likely go with the bottlecap-type necklaces instead since they are a lot cheaper on Etsy.

Well I guess it really depends on the girl. My flower girl was 6 but always wanted to be like the big girls. So I got her a necklace like the necklaces I got my BMs but with a little twist.
Here is the necklace I bought my BMs
And here is the necklace I bought my flower girl:
She loved that she had a necklace like the big girls!

When I was in my aunt’s wedding when I was younger, I recieved a nice little cross. I loved having recieved it. It was always special to me and I still have it to this day. I like the necklace idea. It is something they can keep forever and will never grow out of, or get bored with.

I’d go with children’s nicer jewelry (gold or sterling silver) rather than toys. It will be something they’ll keep for a long time.

If she’s a girly girl and she likes jewelry I’d get her a nice necklace. You could always also do a little clutch or purse for her to carry.

I like the idea of a necklace better because it’ll last longer and make her feel like the BMs. I was a flower girl twice and still have a necklace from one and a bracelet from the other 🙂

I plan on getting my flower girl a necklace and some books. I plan on using the books to keep her entertained before and after the wedding. The necklace she can have forever.

@Mrs.SFI: That’s a good idea re: books! I never thought of that. Good call!
