Less than three months till my wedding, and there are still so many details to take care of!
Today’s issue! The flower girl dress!
My BMs are each wearing a different style of Jim Hjelm dresses in Eggplant Silky Taffeta, and I ordered three yards of extra fabric on a whim, and now I think I have an idea of what I would like to do with it – a top for the flower girl dress!
I’m thinking of a making a dress with the eggplant/plum colored fabric as the top, and then an ivory tutu type skirt. However, I really need to see a similar dress (in any color) to see how this would look.
Any bees have an inspiration pic (or two) to share!

Not sure if any of this is what you have in mind… but thought it MIGHT help! 🙂

Etsy has a lot of these. Just search flowergirl tutu dress or something and they should come up 🙂

Thanks for the help!
I’ve tried looking on etsy, but I can’t find one with a purple (or other colored) top with a ivory tutu to use as inspiration!

why dont you just have the girls wear a leotard in purple?

I ended up going with a different style altogether as I just couldn’t find the right colors.
As for the leotard idea, it’s a pretty good one if you could find the right fabric color combination. Though, I would worry (for our wedding) that it would get too hot! We are having an afternoon outdoor wedding in California.

Leo’s are pretty cool (temp wise I mean), I danced and did gymnastics both for years and they’re not bad, especialy if you get the right kind. Good to know you have it figured out, post a pic when you have it done!!!!
