Has anyone see a “faux” flower girl pomander? I want it to be a basket that can have petals in it but I want it to look like a pomander. Does that make sense? If you have pictures I’d REALLY appreciate it. 🙂

I’ve never heard or seen of that done, but that sounds like it would be really neat. Maybe if you found a small, round basket you could glue flowers on it. Or if you took a styrofoam sphere and carved out the top of it to make it into a basket, and then covered it with flowers. Like I said, I’ve never made one of these before or done anything like that. I’m just trying to come up with ideas for you. Not sure if either one would work!

@thefuturemrs.o: Do you mean something like this?
You could probably get a big circle for the pomander and hollow it out so that you could put petals in it.

As the pp suggested, I would just find a basket of the shape you like (or even a bowl) and hot glue silk flowers to it. Us a ribbon the same way as you do for a pomander to make the handle.
These grapevine baskets could easily be covered with flowers to look like a pomander.
or take an ordinary grapevine ball, cut an opening in the top, (you may have to reinforce the cut edge so it doesn’t unravel), then glue on the flowers.

I bought the styrofoam ball and scooped out the center. I think it’s going to work! I am not putting flowers in the outsie yet because I think I’m going to use real flowers….
