- Wedding: May 2013
I became an aunt when I was 17 years old, and just 7 short years later have 10 darling nieces and nephews (obvioiusly under the age of 7). I am the baby sister of 3 older siblings who I adore, and having their children be a part of my wedding has seemed only natural and a must since I became engaged! I know it is untraditional, but I plan on having them all have a role in the ceremony:
My sisters and sister in law are my maids of honor/bridesmaid…they each just had a baby girl last year and will walk down the aisle first, each holding their new baby girl (they will pass the baby off to a sitter at the end of the aisle)
Next comes my two 4 year old nephews, and a 2 year old nephew, bearing the rings
Next comes my 4 year old and 2 year old nieces, as flower girls
Finally come the oldest, my 5 year old and 7 year old (brothers) nephews, holding a sign that says “here comes the bride”
The girls will be matching in adorable white dresses and the boys will be matching in dark gray suits.
Now, I have loved this idea but lately have been worried that people may think it is obnoxious to have this sort of processional. You’re not going to change my mind with what you say but just out of curiosity what would you think of this at a wedding, knowingn that the bride was super close with her family/nieces/nephews?
