So, prior to the other day I didn’t give half a shit about flower petals. I figured, if I have a flower girl, I’ll get a few silk petals for her to toss, if I don’t have one, then I don’t need to worry about it. Now that I’m getting really set on a forest ceremony of some kind, I think it’d be nice to have something marking either the aisle or the path to the ceremony location. Of course, this would have to be biodegradable, so silk petals are out (unles I want to track down each petal and pick it up after) So I took a cursory glance at prices just now and $130 WHAT? Maybe I don’t know how much 6,000 petals is, but I don’t think it could possibly be enough to justify me spending over $100 on it. [/rant] I also saw freeze dried rose petals, which I thought were less attractive and not something I want to buy… but what would happen if I just collected flowers (different kinds) between now and the wedding, dried them, and used those? Would it just look like I was sprinkling crumbly compost all over my wedding for no reason? What’s another option?
