I am WAY overbudget with my wedding flowers, but I feel as if I don’t have a choice. My venue has “recommended” vendors, and the florist is the one that you have to use. They seem great and the flowers I’ve seen on the site are really nice.. but I feel like it is way overpriced (maybe I just dont know much about wedding flower costs…)
It is going to cost me 1485 for the reception flowers, which is lanterns with pink hydrangeas around it, tall glass vases with floating flowers on the bar, and the big flowers at the front of the ceremony. To me, it should not cost so much! I am not even having full centerpieces, as we are using the lanterns. But, the florist informed me that this is the price for reception flowers (shouldn’t it very based on what is in season and such?!).
Then, we get 15% off personal flowers through them with the venue.. HELLO, why isnt this already included in this high cost? So, with my bouquet ($225, with pink raunuculus, peach and mauve roses, and stephanotis), and my bridesmaids ($100 each), and the groom, groomsmen, other men in family, and corsages for women).. I am at 900 just for personal flowers.
Can anyone tell me how they cut cost on wedding flowers? I dont think I have much of an option with the reception flowers, but maybe I could make my own corsages and boutineirres for family members (corsage 30$ each with florist, bout $10).
Please help me find ways to cut this down. I am feeling so overwhelmed, as I would have never expected flowers to cost this much!!
