My floral quote took about 48 hours.  I’m like you, as the client, I expect to hear back from potential vendors by the timeline they set.  One full month and still no quote?!  That’s not acceptable.  I’d move on and ask for another florist quote.

@PeaceLoveLaughter:  I’d find another florist.  If she can’t you a simple quote will she be able to get the flowers to the venue in time…..move on 🙂

2 quotes I got right on the spot and 1 quote I got 1 hour after our meeting.

I got on the spot but I was doing DIY. It took her a few minutes going to the computer and looking up the price for our time of the year.

@PeaceLoveLaughter:  This is YOUR wedding.  YOUR day.  YOU have the right to execpt a certain amount of professionalism.

Find another place and get a quote.  IF she does come back with something you can tell her too little too late and she will get the point…..

I’m from Philly too and have experienced this same kind of slow turn around. It’s a huge turn off for me.

I wanted to deal with a florist both families had recommended to me because they were local. On numerous occasions, I would go in to the shop to ask to speak with someone about wedding flowers but the only one capable of talking about it was the owner, who was never there. That’s fine, I thought. So I called and asked to schedule an appointment with her. They took my name and number and no one ever called me back! I’m not a rich bride, but they didn’t know. I could have said I wanted to drop $20,000.00 on flowers! They will definitely not be getting my business.

Every bride should be treated with respect, I feel. In any normal business, a client would not be ok with a two-week turn around time on a response or quote. I don’t think it should be any different in the wedding industry. In fact, I think some of these companies should be really careful because it only takes one bad internet review to set you up for a more painful year fiscally.

The quotes I got from florists in the city usually come within 2-3 business days, but communication after that is not always so quick. I can understand a 3 day turnaround for emails, but much more than that has become really unacceptable to me.

I would look for another florist.

I had a similar issue, met the florist at 2 different open houses + when I was visiting my venue. She was very nice, local florist that considered herself to be very creative. She said she would get back to me in a week with a quote and did not — despite us discussing back and forth because she had questions when we left the meeting.

It is really stressful that they are putting you in that situation, you should just keep looking and I’m sure you’ll find someone you are more comfortable with. The most awkward part of the process for me is you need to politely tell the previous vendor you went with someone else :/

Find another florist unless you have your heart set on her.  That is completely unacceptable – she wants your business, not the other way around.

I went to florist appt around Feb (Valentine’s) so I gave them a few days.  But more than that, I am finding another one.  If you can’t even do a simple quote, I figured you either not good at your job or you don’t care of my biz.  So either way I am walking out.

They usually tell you when they will send to you.  If by deadline don’t see it, push them.  I will get the quote just for reference, and meanwhile I am already shopping for another florist for backup.

@PeaceLoveLaughter:  I liked dealing with Papertini. I didn’t end up going with them, but they were very prompt and very nice. I’m dealing with Plaza Flowers now and they are also very nice, although email lags a tiny bit.

I went to 3 florists and received all of my quotes within a week
