I’ve been obsessing over flowers lately too!  I know I want all pink flowers in varying shades… and I want CHEAP flowers that aren’t going to break my budget!  I’m thinking low pink, green and white hydrangea arrangements for the centerpieces.  Even though they’re on the expensive side, my Fiance wants calla lilly bouts so I’m thinking his will be white and the groomsmen will have hot pink ones.  I’d also like to use gerbera daisies somewhere…. maybe my girls bouquets?  I don’t know.  I love the look of flowers at weddings so I’m not willing to sub them out for alternative options… but I hate the exorbitant cost!  I had my heart set on the ever-cheap tulip (my fave flower!) and was devastated to be informed they aren’t in season in July =(

What have you been thinking about for your flowers?

Try going on a wholesale flower website (I just googled “wholesale flowers” lol).  They’ll let you narrow down flower choice by season when they’re available.  That way you can see what you like that is in-season.  I was COMPLETELY clueless about flowers too until I started wedding planning =)

I love flowers of all kinds, so I am just going to go get flowers down at my local store and make bouquets the day of. I can NOT justify a $95 bouquet.

I’m definitely trying to keep my flower budget at a minimum. I want the bouquets to be nice and full though, so I’m thinking white hydrangeas for the bridesmaids and then I’m not sure about my flowers yet but either yellow roses, football mums or yellow dahlias or a mixture of yellow flowers.

My date is 7/7/12 and I also wanted colorful flowers at a minumum – I decided that real flowers weren’t a priority for me, so I ordered several bunches of  BEAUTIFUL flowers from afloral.com and assembled my own. I got a mixture of ranunculus, hydrangeas and garden roses.

I was able to get enough for 5 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, my bouquet, Groom’s  & 5 GMen bouts, 4 fathers/grandfathers bouts, and 4 mothers/gmas corsages for …wait for it….$216. Shipped. (had a 10% off coupon code and free shipping deal too!)

If you’re even thinking about doing your own flowers/having fake flowers…I HIGHLY recommend afloral – they also have premade bouquets and bouts too. Fast shipping and a really great quality. Love it!

PS – It’s funny that I decided to go with faux flowers because i LOVE real ones – I am constantly buying bouquets for the house.

I just figure that if I get the urge to add real flowers at some point I’ll get some for reception decor.

I also went the afloral route!  Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that you have to pay duty taxes on delivery so they ended up being $65 more expensive than I thought (ughhhh), but if you don’t count that, I got 5 bouquets for $110!  I got black and white anemones and I plan on ordering some more silks so that I can have lots of flowers 🙂
