Is anyone not having any flower centerpieces or floral decorations at their reception? My fiance suggested we cut costs by not having any in the reception room, but I would like them?

we had them, but we did diy and bought them wholesale which cut the cost down a LOT. i’m not a tallented florist so we just chose one type of flower, cut the stems, and plopped them in a vase. they looked beautiful!
we are doing mostly candles so it will cut down on the cost alot:
Artbee had a good suggestion with DIYing – especially since you can get vases for cheap at dollarstore.com and a couple hundred roses for cheap at fiftyflowers.com
I guess I would be curious what you would have if you didn’t do flowers? I thought about doing baskets of treats but realized it would be MORE expensive than doing flowers.
The only other option I can think of would be branches in tall vases – but even then it seems like you might need something to decorate them with – so that might end up being the same price as flowers (unless you went totally DIY and made flowers or found cheap beads).
Thanks all, camrie- My fiance’s sister in law is going to do chocolate centerpieces since she is very good at that! I think I’d still like an element of flowers though. Maybe we could reuse the bouquets or something. But walking into the reception with no flowers sounds so not dreamy. Am I over reacting?
ooh that sounds delicious – I don’t think I would notice the lack of flowers if there were chocolate centerpieces. I’d be too excited!
I think if it bothers you then maybe you could get a few flower arrangment to put on focal points in the room (cake table, middle of your table). Plus reusing your bouquets is a great idea because after pics who wants to carry them around?
