Our original quote was $4,652.00
bride’s bouquet and 6 bridesmaid bouquets
2 large chapel arrangements
Groom’s bout and 6 groomsmen bouts
Family flowers (nosegays for mothers/grandmothers, bouts for fathers/grandfathers)
Pomander ball for flower girl/ bout for ring bearer
Centerpieces for 22 tables and 1 long headtable
Centerpieces for 5 pub tables
Our budget for flowers was $3,500 and when we started talking to him later about cutting several things, he said that he loved our “vision” and enjoyed working with our design so much that if we would only cut the chapel arrangements ($500 total), he would do the rest for the $3,500. Did I mention we love our florist?

FLowers were so important to me in the beginning…then i re-evaluated and realized my wedding being personalized with little details about us as a couple was more important. Also satying within our budget was #1. I went with roses, classic, beautiful and one of the least expensive flowers year-round.
For $1000 in Chicago I got:
6 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets (to be fair, they were 3 roses wrapped in ribbon, why do they need 3x as many flowers??
2 Presentation roses for the moms
2 bouts for dads
6 Groomsmen bouts
2 altar arrangements transported after to reception
Rose petals for tables
Flowers for cake
I’m so glad I didn’t do it myself, I had to be talked down from it mulitple times. The stress would have done me in. But I’m also glad we kept things simple without doing away with flowers all together.

Ours came out to almost 7 thousand………. ugh that place better be COVERED in flowers.
My bouquet and toss bouquet and my FI’s boutoniere
10 bridesmaid bouquets and groomsmen boutonieres (or however you spell it)
Like 30 or 40 flower arraignments for family
35 huge centerpieces
Massive bridal party table (for obvious reasons….. lol)
2 big arraingments for the church……
Big arraignment for the entrance of the hall and decorations on the staircase also at the hall.
I am still AMAZED by how expensive flowers are. And this was the cheapest quote I got for such a large event. I was getting quoted well over 10 thousand dollars is some places.
For what? They are all going to die anyway 🙁

I’m honestly pretty jealous of your quote. That’s a ton of flowers for $7k. Like a ton. So many flowers.

Really? I still feel ripped off. But I think I would’ve felt this way regardless…. flowers are so ridiculously overpriced….. they really take advantage of brides.

This is crazy, I feel like I got the deal of the century! My wedding is in a small town, so I’m not sure if that made a difference. But here is what I’m getting for $350 (seasonal flowers for my September wedding in 3 weeks!!):
1 bridal bouquet and 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets
8 arrangements for a medium sized mason jar as centerpieces
Flowers to be attached behind pew bows for the aisle.
We are only having 50 guests and we are decorating the head table with the bouquets. She is making my bows, delivery and setting up everything within that price. A-maz-ing!
Here’s a photo of the “scraps” from my consultation. Looks good to me!

If you look on the previous page, we’re paying $8K for what I listed, and we don’t have anywhere near as many flowers as you do! For what we wanted we were quoted anywhere between $5K-$11K. Crazy! I’d say you got one heck of a deal! (Though it does seem like a ton of money up front…but with your huge family and Wedding Party and all of those guest tables….that’s a great price, I think!) I’m super jealous! Definitely post some photos when you get them — it sounds like the room will be absolutely gorgeous!

We had about 140 guests and 4 BMs and 4 Groomsmen. Ours came out to about $6,500 CAD including labour, but prices vary quite a bit depending on where you’re getting married. Flowers & candlelight just make everything so magical!

I was quoted $5,000+ for one of my meetings…..back to the drawing board I guess, smh

MrsHistory-Bee: We spent just under $900 on flowers. The 1 bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 5 boutineers, and 3 corsages from a florist cost $560, and then we bought $320 worth of loose florals from Costco, which my mother arranged herself.

I got a quote for $3,200 and was blown away! So I ended up doing my own and I was THRILLED!!!
I ended up spending a little under $1,000 and I went with Flower Moxie (http://www.flowermoxie.com).
They were awesome because they built a custom quote for me, and talked to me on the phone, which answered a lot of questions and my nervousness. They sell by the bunch, so I didn’t have to buy an entire box of orchids just to get some in my bouquet. You can watch their DIY videos on youtube, which is helpful.
Anyway, good luck! DIY is not for everyone, but it really helped me save money, and it wasn’t too hard (my mom and aunts did help, lol)
