- Wedding: June 2013
Mr. Hofstadter and I keep running into color problems– for the wedding, for possible wedding bands, etc. His favorite color is blue, and mine is red. We’d like to incorporate both into the color scheme, but unfortunately, neither one of us is terribly flexible about the shade. He likes a medium blue, like David’s Bridal’s Horizon, and I like a bold, true red, like their Apple Red. Hopefully, it won’t end up looking like the fourth of july, especially since we’re having a July wedding. Maybe even more difficult for making things match is that he’s set on having his side in blue and mine in red. We both have female and male friends among our attendants, so… I’m almost a bit concerned it’ll look like two separate weddings. Or at the very least clash.
I thought that maybe we could tone down the red, white, and blueness of it all and create some with our choice of flowers, especially since both of us have bridesmaids/groomsmaids who will carry bouquets, so that will be something common to both sides. I’d like to include blue irises, but apart from that, I’m not sure. I thought that maybe the inclusion of another complimentary, not-red-white-or-blue accent color might help pull everything together in a way that’ll make us look less like an American flag. Maybe yellow lillies? Bi-color roses in yellow with petals tipped in red? I’ve also seen orange lillies paired with blue and red flowers. If anybody has any suggestions, they would be truly appreciated! 🙂
