Maybe the base is a little too small for the arrangement? Otherwise I think the arrnagement itself is beautiful.

@weim-love:  agreed, the base makes it feel off balance.

I think it also feels very spherical and a little too “full”.  I tend to like arrangements that have a sense of perspective, like tall flowers in the back or middle, shorter at the front or on the outside.  This doesn’t have any sense of perspective, as it’s just a globe of flower clusters.  The clusters are all similar sizes, there isn’t any playing with scale (Like tall strands of small flowers, and large, low flowers).  I think the biggest issue is that there’s no center of visual interest; you don’t really know where to look.  This could all be my taste talking, though.  It’s still lovely, and the flowers are beautiful.

It needs more of the small pink flowers that are hanging.  It looks unfinished with just the few stems- If there were more, it’d pull the look together.

Perhaps your florist could also not “clump” the flower types together and evenly distribute the different flowers?  I think I can tell the direction they were trying to go with it sectioned off like that, but it just doesn’t work very well.

I think a curvier vase (hurricane glass shaped perhaps) would help balance the fullness. I also think the burgundy carnations at the top tend to weigh down the arrangement. In my humble opinion, it would be perfect if the carnations were pink or a neutral color, and the burgundy shined through only in the flowers hanging from the bottom.
