Hi Bee’s,
I’m so torn! Between the idea of fresh flowers or a vintage art deco kind of jewelled headpiece. Two completly different looks!
Arg. I *think* I’m leaning towards getting a jewelled headpiece, but I am still thinking of freash flowers (baby’s breath/Gypsophila) for the bridesmaids. Obviously they don’t have to be the same, but should they at least be a similar style?
If I do decide to go a jewelled headpiece, would it be too different a style to go for freash flowers for the BM?
xx

I’m thinking of getting a headpiece/headband with leather flowers on it! That way I get flowers without the boho look of a fresh-flower crown (I’m definitely not boho!) I think your BMs wearing gyp and you wearing a jewelled headpiece would be fine! It would make you stand out as the bride.

Do you have pictures? You can have styles that are completely different yet somehow look “right” together.

I think, it depends on style of your dress. But I’m pro hair piece more!)

I had a tiara and was going to have baby’s breath flower crowns for my girls, in the end because of budgeting I chose for them to have delicate pearl necklace instead and simple wavy/soft curled hair down – except my 11 1/2 year old sister who had the flower crown.
I think flowers goes with everything, flowers are always beautiful and if you can dress your bridesmaids with flowers it will only enhance the beauty of you even more by this being around you.

indigobride : I’m partial towards Art Deco, so I would recommend that— I bought my wedding shoes in this style. Do you have photos of the hair pieces?

I’m doing a ‘floral’ headpiece’. It’s satin flowers with tiny crystals all over. My gown is satin with glass beading so matches perfectly. Wearing a detachable veil with it for the ceremony.

And this is the bridesmaids dress (that’s me in it hahaha)

This is one of the headpieces that I’d been considering, and they’re were a few on etsy that I’ve seen. And then i see flowers and want flowers again! So indecisive haha
(Terrible photo sorry!)

I vote hair piece. I wore flowers in my hair at a pre-wedding event, and while they looked bomb for the first couple hours, they were wilting and dying by the end of the night. I wore a hair piece for part of my wedding day and it obviously didn’t have that issue. These were totally different looks, though…it depends to a large extent on your dress, venue, and the overall look you’re going for.
