I’m a teacher and I never get it, and I have not gotten the flu in YEARS (watch, this will be the year, now that I’ve said it).  However, I rarely get sick.  I hugged a girl and escorted her to the office who was sick last year and it turns out she was sick with H1N1, and I was still fine.

I always get one, without fail. I usually do feel like crud for a few days, but I’m one of those that will get a two week long flu if I don’t get the shot. So the few days of cruddy feeling are worth it to me.

The Fiance never gets one – and never gets the flu. Some people are SO lucky!

I have never gotten the flu shot, but I’m really worried about the this year..so I’m considering it. I photograph kids in daycare so I’m considering it because I will be expose to everything…even though daycares are coming down hard on sick children with fevers and such. LOL=I been using so much hand santizer! I actually had a parent freak out on me about being prejudice to her child because I put hand santizer afterwards…she was complaining that I wasn’t doing that for every child (which I was..) but her freaking child sneezed all over me and was dripping snot and I had to wipe his nose..because I guess, when I told her to please wipe his face..she didn’t think the nose was included. I had to explain to her that I wasn’t, I was doing it for the safety of the children because I’m exposed to a lot of germs and I have contact with everyone. grr…

My fi gets it every year (military) and he gets soo sick for a week afterwards! They always give him the nasal spray form instead of the shot and he hates it, but he can’t complain–just does what he’s told ๐Ÿ˜‰

Mom’s a public health lady, she’s always got it lying around this time of year and just lurves to poke the family with needles, so yes, got one and have every year for the last 6 years. Haven’t had the flu yet *knocks on wood* hah. I’d like the h1n1 vac, but she says the cut off is 25, and I turn 25 before she can get it for me, so ๐Ÿ˜›

I plan on getting one but I am also taking precautions like using hand sanitizer and Kleenex Anti-Viral tissues.  I really don’t want to get the flu this year I had it two years ago and it was the worst.

@arineya    There is not an age limit on the H1N1 vaccine.  And since you said age 25, I have to assume maybe you are talking about the Gardasil vaccine?  Regardless, you can definitely get the H1N1 vaccine if you want it.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I’m pretty sure I have the flu right now.

Going to the doctor tomorrow, to get tested in case it’s N1H1.

Getting regular flu and H1N1 shot next week. I always get the flu shot anyway, but the hospital I work at requires them.

My office is having free flu shots in 2 weeks. I had thought about getting one for the first time this year. Unfortunately, I’ve already had the flu this year-last week was no fun. I’m not sure which strain it was, so I don’t know which vaccine I would need. Thankfully, I had 80+ hours of sick leave and no urgent deadlines.

I just want to point out for those who think they may have had the flu this year… Unless you have a positive test for flu, you can’t no for sure if you did or did not have it.  There are many viruses with very similar symptoms.

When I test kids that I highly suspect have flu, they often come up positive for adenovirus, RSV, parainfluenza, metapneumovirus and other viruses… all which will leave you unprotected from the flu.  So even if you had the “flu” this year, it’s still worthwhile to consider getting the vaccine (unless you know for sure that you are flu A H1N1 positive– but even then, you should get the seasonal flu vaccine).
