I used to get them all the time as a kid and teenager, which I hated. I was told it was because my dad had health issues that if he got the flu, it would be dangerous for him, so it was for precautionary reasons. By the time I hit my teens, the flu shots quit working and everytime I got a shot, I was automatically guaranteed to get the flu, despite everyone from doctors to parents telling me I was making that up. I haven’t gotten any flu shots since maybe 17/18 and I haven’t gotten the flu yet as a result. Also, a couple yrs ago on a visit to the chiropractor’s office, I read a detailed article written by a local medical team that scared me away further from ever getting one again.

We need to get ours. I feel a winter wedding is too risky without!

Just got my flu shot on Wed. And my arm was totally out of commission for the rest of that day and night. Felt like I’d been hit with a sledgehammer haha. I would never volunteer for it (i am soooo scared of needles) but required to working in the hospital. (well it’s either that or wear a mask, and since I’m not clinical, that would be a little weird.) They have certain times you can go down to a conference room and get yours, but there is no way I could do that!!! Get a shot in front of people?? hahaha I act like a 5 year old!! So I called up the business health nurse who used to have her office near mine and asked her to please come up here to give me mine in my office, without 50 people watching my throw a tantrum. Luckily, she did, and the only people that got to hear me scream were the 3 other women in my office HAHAHAHA Was really hoping I’d grow out of the needle phobia, but here it is, 12 days ’til my 28th birthday, and it’s still rearing its ugly head!
