Does each table just have one letter? Or a whole word?

It seems a little minimal to me, especially since it’s doing double duty as your table number, but I think you could definitely build around it – maybe put the letter/word on top of a stack of vintage books or scatter something around it, or something to that effect.

I agree that one letter may be a little lacking, and I like the idea of stacking it on vintage books.  Could you maybe add a mason jar (they are really cheap) and fill each with wildflowers or something easy and cheap?

And if FMIL/FSIL don’t approve just ask them to shell out the extra money- that should get them to shut up

I am the lone other vote, because I think this could work, but I don’t think that glueing petals on the base makes it look more centerpiece-like.

I was thinking maybe putting a square/circle of fabric/paper/pattern underneath it to kind of define the center of the table a little better. Martha weddings had a great feature about using wrapping paper on your tables, and another one with tissue paper. I can’t find the link right now.

I also think that candles may be good, with the light putting focus on the center of the table. You could use those battery operated tealights in a semi-opaque candle holder.

could you post a picture of your venue or give an idea of what the theme you are going for is? then maybe we could help you out a little more

Depending on the size of the room, it could look empty if  there is just a letter on the tabletop. But if that is what you want then go for it.

@bells: OH!!! A girl I know did this too and when we she set it up she thought it wasn’t enough. Here’s what she did.
