I am so pumped. I guess she bought Future Sister-In-Law a bunch of things for her 6 week trip to Ireland so she wanted to make things fair. She saw this sale on the shopping channel that if you buy the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer you get the Kitchen Aid Blender free!!!!
Anyways, it is going be here in a week and I was wondering if anyone had great recipes they could share and what are the best attachments for it?
P.s I am so pumped about the blender! I can make my own smoothies! EEEEE!
Seriously, best Future Mother-In-Law ever.

i mash potatoes in my kitchen aid mixer, and make pizza dough, there is so much you can do with that!

I mostly use mine for baking, whoopie pies, cake, whiped cream, etc. I found the recipie book that came with it is a great way to start as they specify which mixug head, number setting and time. I have yet to try pizza dough and will check back to see what other things people are making! I think there are similar threads here too so maybe you want to do a quick search (I’ve done this in the past).

I use mine for bakiong mostly but also have made different types of dips. My mom and sister like the ice cream maker attachment. We recently bought the meat grinder (we eat a lot of elk and venison) and have not used it yet but it’s nice to have.

We have the ice cream attachment and I love it but I’m still trying to get the hang of it. We also have the ravioli attachment which really fun, but you also need a pasta maker to make your dough into thin sheets before feeding it into the ravioli maker. I love love love my KitchenAid mixer (mixers actually, I have two…… The Artisan was a bit too small for my double batches, so I had to upgrade, LOL!).
I really love this pear cinnamon frozen yogurt.

A buddy of mine makes pasta with his – it’s awesome! I recommend that attachment.

I want ALL the attachments.
I think I want the ice cream maker the most, and then the meat grinder. After those, I don’t care which order I get them in.

I love my mixer. Personal favorite is the ice cream maker attachment. Also make sure you get one of the mixing blades with the spatula-like edges — SO handy.

I think the grinder you will use if your big grill people. I don’t eat red meat so I turn everything into fun burgers for myself. Salmon goat cheese burgers, Veggie burgers, I throw everything through the grinder. The pasta attachment has been awesome too, I use it all of the time!

I make the best mash potatoes in my mom’s kitchen aid mixer (which she got on her wedding day 26 years ago!).
She has the pasta attachment and makes gluten free noodles with it. I know she uses it for a lot of other things as well.

I just found this recipe for refried beans–and it’s super easy to mash them in the KitchenAid! I just use the “whisk” like beater thing. Totally recommend this recipe for burritos or chip dip. It’s sooo good, and really healthy too!
I mix bread from the book “Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day” using the dough hook, and I make pizza dough with that too.
We got the meat grinder a few months ago. It’s great for buying cheaper cuts of meat and making hamburgers! I’d recommend wearing an apron though because Darling Husband got sprayed with blood a few times. Gross, right?
