Wow I really feel bad for the Future Mother-In-Law, the op seems to be mocking her now.

*raises one eyebrow* ….

It sounds like the woman has issues with self esteem or depression and she felt great in the dress so she wanted to take pics. I don’t understand how this is disrespecting you? Take it as a compliment….

OP, you will not be looking for spots on her dress at your wedding. You’ll be thinking about marrying the person you love. If I’m wrong, you may be a little too preoccupied with the wedding as opposed to the marriage.

So she feels beautiful in the dress. This is something she hasn’t experienced. It might be a little weird, but I don’t see why it’s an issue, even though the email annoyed you. If it were my Future Mother-In-Law, I’d actually think it was kind of funny. I get that you’re venting, but TBH, I don’t really see what there is to vent about.

I put my makeup on after my clothes most of the time. It’s never caused any problems, especially not a bridepocalypse. Please don’t feel sad for me or your fmil because we don’t put our makeup on the right way. Pretty sure there are 2 or 3 other things going on more worthy if your sad feelings.

Is this like her version of getting bridal shots?  It’s very common in Utah to have bridal shots (not necessarily through Glamour Shots though).

I feel like a lot of people here are really missing the real tradgedy involved. SHE HAD GLAMOUR SHOTS TAKEN! LOL! Oh Future Mother-In-Law…

I feel like she sent this email in a “OMG so the funniest thing happened to me today…” type of manner, the same way I’ll send my fiance, sister, and brother-in-law funny links that I’ve found. But then this email got totally blown out of proportion by OP.

I read through more responses and honestly…I think this is one of the oddest posts I’ve seen on here. I just do not understand what the big deal is and why this would be upsetting to anyone!

Like a lot of the other bees, I think you are being kinda silly about this. Your Future Mother-In-Law is just excited and feels beautiful in a dress, which sounds like this doesn’t happen very often.

This makes me a little sad. My mum hates getting dressed up and being centre of attention. I actively wish that she was so excited about the dress she’s wearing to my wedding that she organised a shoot to make her feel good about herself. Make up stain or not.

OP –  she just sounds exctied. Leave her be.

I kind of understand because I purchased my BM’s dresses and would have been uppset if they were wearing them before the wedding….mainly just to keep anything from spilling, etc. However, if her dress is fine, I would shake it off.

I can understand where you’re coming from. It’s a dress for a very special occasion and she isn’t respecting that. Also, this is just really bizarre. Won’t there be pictures of her at the wedding? It’s almost like she had a bridal portrait session.
