Why can’t she come? Can’t she help with some planning? She might be feeling left out. My Future Mother-In-Law will be there with bells on! My Sis and Mum and Bridesmaids are planning it.

I wouldnt want my fmil at my bparty either. Have you tried changing the subject when sh brings it up?  You could always ask your Fiance to talk to her.

@PrincessConsuelaBananaHammock:  I. LOVE. YOUR. USERNAME. 😀

I feel for you… I love hanging out with my mom and my SO’s mom, but I don’t know if I’d want them at my bachelorette party. Could you have a day out with her separately doing something she might enjoy?

I wouldn’t want my Future Mother-In-Law there either.  Since she seems to have her husband talk to you when she has an issue, then i suggest having your Fiance approach her.  I think providing an alternative activity for just you two on another day would be a good idea.

tell her that you view her as a mother figure and you are afraid you wouldn’t be able to let your hair down the same way as if your own mother were there. then it’s almost like a compliment to her that you view your relationship as that close or important.

@PrincessConsuelaBananaHammock:  As your sister, Maid/Matron of Honor, is the one planning the bachelorette, it is her responsibility to invite people, not yours. So, the pressure is off of you. Still feel odd about it? If Future Mother-In-Law is so hell bent on doing something “fun” for you, plan a separate day to do whatever crazy thing she wants — golfing, paintball, whatever — to celebrate, just you two. And make sure to plan some buffer time to recover from whatever hanggliding, mountainbiking extravaganza she’s got up her sleeve.
