Do you have a wedding website? Can you register at Bed and Bath as well and just get the word out there that your registered at Crate and Barrel too. I do agree that fixing the invitations will look tacky.

Or can Crate and Barrel give your registry cards to put in your invitation?

Ouch. That’s an awkward situation to be put in. You don’t want to make your Mother-In-Law uncomfortable, but still want the registry you already created.  If you don’t want to cross out on the invites (which would look tacky), I’d say take the hour or two to make a BBB registry. Perhaps you could register for bedding, kitchenwares, duplicates of things that you want or things you want to return. I wouldn’t normally suggest registering for things you want to return, but duplicates might not be a bad idea. Keep Crate and Barrel though.

As long as they weren’t crazy expensive, I would ask her (nicely) to reprint the invites. Or make your Fiance do it.

If the invites can’t be reprinted, i would not do anything. everyone will just buy you stuff from Amazon for your shower when they can’t find BBB registry. For the wedding put the word out that you are also registered at CB.

How about covering the info with a label?

I would register @ BBB & maybe just list the other registry on a website or something.

Could she print a little insert to go with the invites?  Like, “fourpeass is also registered at Crate + Barrel”?

I agree with Roxy821 and the wedding website idea  ~ you can make a free website (mine is at project wedding one: marioandashley.projectwedding.com ) and you can put your registry there.

I would also register at BBB (maybe just a few items – like photo albums, towels, etc) ~ and then put an insert with the shower invitations that says something like, “for more information on our wedding and direct links to our registry, visit our personal website at: blablabla.com”

I know if I got that – I would want to visit your website and would just use the direct links.:) I definitely wouldn’t cross it out – I think that definitely would look tacky.

    Good luck!!!!

    I agree with MeghanV….

You clearly registerd with the places that YOU wanted to register for. However, with the typo as an obstacle, its now a different story.

I would STAY registered at C&B. ( I SO wanted to register there, but thought it would be too difficult for our guest to only have stores that arent close to us.) As you live in New Haven, Im sure there are C&Bs close… Maybe it is nice to have the addition of BB&B for a different price point and ease of access for some people.

You have to remember no matter where you register, some people are still going to get you whatever they want… Wherever they want to get it.

Just go on in to BB&B and be excited to pick out some more things to kick off your new life togher.

Did you check Amazon’s registry to see if you can sync your C&B registry to it?

I know with my MyRegistry I can sync C&B to it.

ETA:OK a quick google and this might be a OK solution for you.

Amazon also lets you use the Universal Registry button.

Which means you can add a little button to your browser and add items from any website to your Amazon registry. I did this for our MyRegistry.

Just add the button and you’ll have to manually add your C&B items to Amazon.

Get Crate and Barrel inserts to put in the invitation. or just suck it up and register for 5 things at BBB… couldn’t hurt!

I would either just register for a couple of things at B&B, three or so or I would not register at B&B and guests will just use Amazon when they can’t find it.  🙂  But keep the Crate and Barrel.

Were the invitations expensive?  If they aren’t too pricey, I’d reprint.  Depending on the invite design, maybe a well-mounted piece of cardstock over the offending area might look ok?
