My Future Mother-In-Law went to David’s Bridal to look for her dress for the wedding. She was given the only guy who worked there and she said as she was trying on dresses, he came back with the ugliest dress in the store. He kept telling her it would be gorgeous on her and she kept refusing to try it on. Finally she gave in and went and tried it on. It was too big, so her guy came and pinned it all up for her and when she was done she said she LOVED it and bought it! At the end, he looked at her and said “Those other dresses were not you. This is you! Elegant, elegant, elegant!” I just had to laugh!

Yep the ugly dresses can surprise you!

It reminded me a little bit of dress shopping. I was SURE that I didn’t want lace, however the saleswoman encouraged me to try on a bunch of different styles. What was the dress I ended up loving? Lace!

Hahaha…hilarious! Moral of the story: Never judge a dress on its hanger!

I’m pretty amused because she still maintains it’s the ugliest dress in the shop…yet she loves it on her! And she’s pretty picky!

Haha that’s great! I’m glad she found one she loved!

Wish I had a story like this! I took my Future Mother-In-Law dress shopping and we found about 5 dresses that looked great on her! (surprising that they all fit and looked good right off the rack!) Everything was great and we had narrowed it down to 2 dresses… then her husband walked in and well… downhill. He told her she looked fat in the dress I loved her in (she is a size 18, but it was VERY flattering). Then he told her that all the colors she tried on were not elegant and did not have enough bling. (it is a summer wedding and during the day, so the only thing I asked for was for her to get something fun and preferably not a dark color when she asked what to get)
I wanted to smack him, how on earth can you tell your wife she looks fat in public, ugh!
PS- sorry for the thread jack, just thought it was a funny story, but not sweet funny like yours!

LOL! that’s why people should try on as many dresses as they can before purchasing the one!

@Schatzie821: That’s terrible! I can’t believe he’d say that!
