One of my best friend’s husband is allergic to poultry and eggs.  They didn’t ban it from the wedding except for the cake which they made eggless.  The groom’s allergy is pretty bad but he was just fine πŸ™‚

Panda, This is a very big concern for us while planning! Mr.A cannot have anything with onions… no powder, dehydrated, frozen, NOTHING. There are times that it is a challenge to cook certian dishes without them but it is do-able. I don’t think you are wrong in asking for no carrots. I am sure you will be a beautiful bride… especially if you have no chance of swelling up… or having to worry about it!

@MsPanda: Carrots are not that common in food besides a salad and maybe steamed veggies. You should be able to finds tons of foods without it. It’s ok to leave carrots off all together, I doubt if anyone will miss it.

I’m allergic to nuts. I made sure that it wasn’t part of our menu. With most wedding menus, caterers and hotels are aware of nut allergies. I’m trying to remember attending a wedding recently where it was a concern. I can’t think of it. It’s more of a problem with dinner parties with friends. One of our friends always forgets that I’m allergies to nuts and still uses them.

On your wedding day I think you should be able to eat whatever you want without worrying about having an allergic reaction.  No one will miss the carrots!
