HELLO Ladies! (and Gents? Maybe, ha. Not sure.)
First off, thanks for everyone’s help on my last question about our backyard wedding logistics. It really helps to have some people with experience put some perspective on things.
On to the next task at hand! 🙂
I’m meeting this morning with someone who responded to my CL post looking for someone to handle food and drinks at our wedding.
(a link to my post, fyi- http://chautauqua.craigslist.org/evg/3558340940.html)
We’re going to have keg beer and some pre-made pitchers or drink dispensers of Sangrias. For food we’re doing a taco bar and all the garnishes. We have a friend who’ll run the grill for the meat. Everything that can be prepped/chopped ahead of time will be. So, we’re basically looking for someone to put the final touches on anything that is needed in the kitchen, and with an eye for presentation, set everything up so it’s ready shortly after the ceremony ends. Then keep things refreshed as needed, make sure there’s ice, drinks, cups, etc. Clean up as needed/afterward.
For pay I’m thinking $12/hour might be fair – but I would pay $100 even if it doesn’t end up needing to be a full 8 hour day, so a flat rate for the service may be a better decision. We’re expecting around 50 people at our wedding. Food and drink will be serve-yourself.
What does everyone think about this? Good job for one person, or too much? Anyone done something like this? I have had a couple of people inquire, so it could be a two-person job if it seems like it would be too much for one person.
I look forward to any advice or thoughts!
