I’m hoping to eventually make my own baby food once our little miss arrives and is ready.
Does anyone have any food processor recommendations? Or at least any pointers for what to look for in a food processor that will mainly be used for this purpose? I’m new to food processors, so any suggestions for neat features, capacity etc. would be great.

I’ve never used one, but have heard good things about the baby bullet?

I love my cuisinart and plan to use it to make baby food as well. Its the 14 cup one. I thought buying something really small didn’t make sense, since I would like to use it for lots of things

@mwitter80: Was just going to say that the “Cuisinart Custom” model is the best one I think!
If you’re just looking to make babyfood though, get the Baby Bullet. I have just a regular magic bullet for making things like salad dressing or quick smoothies…. and its great.
Only get the full size cuisinart if you’ll use it for things like dough, onion chopping, cheese grating etc.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I’m hesitant about something like the baby bullet because it just seems so small. I want to be able to make a decent amount of food, and I like the idea of having the processor for my everyday cooking too. I’ve always wanted one as an everyday appliance but just couldn’t justify buying one… so while it will be purchased primarily with making baby food in mind, I’d also love to expand and use it to make life a little easier in the kitchen in general.
Any recommendations for any retailers that would have a decent price and selection?

@LAGS: I’ve seen some 100 dollar ones by Black and Decker, at Canadian Tire and XS Cargo.

Honestly, I use a $24 Black and Decker from Walmart. Gets the job done!

@eagle: Hah is it sad that hearing Canadian tire makes me miss home?? I’m in the states now, but man they have the best sales!
@WineAndCupcakes: Glad to hear the affordable options can hold their own. I’m torn between making the big investment and just going cheap so see what I like first.

I don’t know anything about making baby food in a processor, but I had the regular magic bullet and it sucked, and then died after less than a year. I would stay far away from that particular brand. I would suggest Bed, Bath and Beyond. They always have 20% off coupons and they have great selection and an amazing return policy
