My number one food-related pet peeve is when someone says they’re not hungry, but then wants to eat MY food! I was with someone the other day that reminded me of this. We stopped at Arby’s (I know, bad) because it was after 4 PM and I hadn’t eaten anything literally all day. The person I was with said, “I am not hungry at all. I’ll just have a drink.” (this was NOT money related, btw). Ended up with her eating half of my food! Lol! I hate that! I mean, she had plenty of money and so did I. It’s not like she couldn’t afford to get anything and was embarrassed to ask me to get her something. I don’t know why people do that, but they always do it to me!
So, what is your food-related peeve?

When someone (:cough: FI) spits out their food in a napkin if they don’t like something… Just chew and swollow; you are an adult!

My food-related pet peeve is when people don’t take appropriate portions of things when dining family-style, like at family dinners. My sister-in-law is a picky eater and likes to take far more than her fair share of certain things, leaving very little to go around for the rest of the people at the table.
My husband’s food-related pet peeve is when people try to take food off his plate without asking. He’s like Joey from Friends. Joey doesn’t share food!

I can’t stand the sound of anyone eating/drinking I don’t know why but it makes me wanna punch them and or puke. I can’t even eat alone without music/tv conversation to drown out the noise.

My food related pet peeve is when I choose to eat something and the person i’m eating it who doesn’t like my choice, makes faces while I’m eating it!
@Gemstone: hehehehe love it!!

I hate it when people take food off my plate too. I’m like Mitchell from Modern Family: “If you want the chicken, order the chicken”.
My fiance always takes my food and it drives me nuts. If we’re in the mall or something and I’m getting a snack I’ll be like “Do you want anything?” and he’s always like “No, I’ll just have some of yours”. Um, that wasn’t an option. I’m getting it cuz I want to eat it, not cuz I want to eat half of it. Drives me up the effing wall.

My food pet peeve is when a certain friend of mine and I go out to eat, she wants to order the entire menu because she wants to try everything. Meanwhile, I’m not really a sharer (okay, you can have a bite, lol), so I already have an idea of what I want to eat and am not really interested in what she wants to try. I just feel sometimes it’s wasteful, plus I don’t want to cut my sandwich in half, lol. 😛
Also, I have see if I can break FI’s habit of talking when he’s chewing…bugs the hell out of me!

Slurps soup off the spoon…OMG, I could punch them. Or eats loudly in general…chomps on chips. I had a roommate that was noisy eating a quiet food like a marshmallow…GRRRR

My pet peeve in a restaurant is if the food is served lukewarm. I hate that! I want hot food to be scalding hot, and cold food to be icy cold. Lukewarm is yuck.

Oh and another one!!… Again my lovely Fiance… making that awful sucking noise through the straw when he comes to the last of a drink!! And also when hes drinking from a glass/cup no straw; he can’t drink without sucking in massive amounts of air also! Ahhhh!!!

@Gemstone: ♥ Haha, I was actually thinking of posting this meme when I wrote this! Pinksapphire doesn’t share food, either! Lol! I know it just sounds insane, but I am more than willing to buy someone their own meal (if they can’t afford it) or make enough for two when I’m cooking. I just hate when someone orders a salad or a drink or something and then wants MY food. Like, I know how hungry I am at any given time. If I’m really hungry, I want my food to myself. If I’m not all that hungry, I don’t expect other people to give me theirs if I don’t order enough.
The taking too much thing is annoying, too. When I am at a gathering, I always wait til last to make my plate. How can you be an adult and not be mindful of others? Darling Husband does this and so do several of his family members. Like, one night, DH’s cousin, her Darling Husband and child came for dinner (DH and I live with MIL and FIL). Well, we’d bought a single box of macaroni and cheese because we were under the impression that it would only be the four of us that night (MIL, Father-In-Law, Me and DH). Cousin’s DD only eats very few things, macaroni being one of them. So, cousin proceeded to make her Dirty Delete two huge bowls of it, after I’d already said I only had the one box (cousin’s Dirty Delete had already had dinner). To top it off, cousin made herself like two saucer-plates full. This is before the rest of the dinner was done and no one else had eaten!
@HopingtobeeMrsV: I have this, too. It’s actually a condition called Misophonia. I learned this because I typed, “want to punch husband in the face when he eats” on Google, lmao!

@Pinksapphire: I hate it when people use the same spoon to serve everything even if each different food item has its own spoon. Like if you’re having tacos and there’s now a bit of sour cream in the guacamole. ARRRRGH!!!!!! Lol

@cb336: Makes me crazy, too! Mother-In-Law and I run errands together on a certain day of the week and we normally get lunch. Sometimes, she suggests sharing and I’m just like, are you kidding me? We don’t usually get our lunch until 2 PM, but I normally don’t eat until then. So, I’m starving. I can eat lunch at 2 and still eat dinner at 8. That’s only two meals in a day. Mother-In-Law will say, “You wanna share, because I won’t be able to eat dinner if I eat lunch!” Which is total bullcrap, I’ve definitely seen her eat a substantial lunch after 3PM, then turn around and go out to eat at 7.
