(Closed) Food stations could possibly be formal…ish??

I see no reason you can’t have a dressy wedding with food stations.

@seagulltowed:  I definitely think stations can be formal! I’ve been to two wedding receptions that had formal, plated sit down dinners and the food was sub-par, plus we wasted two hours of dancing/mingling time because we had to be seated at our tables eating.  I think stations are really fun, the food is fresh and it gives you way more options!! We’re doing stations for our reception and I think it’ll make our early evening cocktail reception a little fancier. 

P.S. your stations sound delicious and way better than a piece of chicken on a plate. Go for it!

I agree that the food stations detract from a formal wedding, but there’s no reason you can’t do it if you want.  I personally am not a fan, but if you want more variety in the food, they are a viable option.
