- Wedding: October 2012
My wedding is on a tight budget, and I haven’t wanted to sacrifice anaything. Orginally, I went to David’s Bridal and found a dress I could afford and loved. After second examination of the pictures, I realized that I looked like I was drowning in taffetta. So onward I went in my search, highly considering sites like dressilyme.com, etc. A friend suggest a site, lightinthebox.com. The dress selection is really pretty to downright, who would wear this astrosity? Anyway, the prices were reasonable and there were LOTS of reviews on their dresses, with many brides posting their own pictures. I really like this aspect of the website, it reassured me that my purchase, would be awesome. So, I picked a dress, its in the link below.
The dress above, it was my mothers favorite, I wanted something completely different but she had a good point. The dress I wanted, it was much like the dress from David’s Bridal, tafetta and at the point it hit me on my waist, I’d be swimming again. I dreaded I would hate this dress. I was scared that qualtiy was going to be horrible. It arrived in the mail yesterday.
The pictures below, there is no petticoat. So the dress isn’t as poofy as it should be. I have a petticoat ordered, and at that point the dress will be perfect. I am very happy with the quality. The beading and appliques are beautiful, they do not look cheap. I got custom measurements so that dress fits like a glove. My mother was very please. And what do you know? I didn’t feel like a pretty pretty princess (which is what I was trying to avoid). The dress is pretty, I feel pretty in it and suits my personality well.
