I was skimming the boards and saw a post where someone called themselves a “grammar snob”. As a self-proclaimed “grammar snob” (just ask my boss, he hates giving me things to proof) I find it comforting to know there are others out there like me. So, I thought I’d pass along a book. The Great Typo Hunt by Jeff Deck. In a nutshell, this guy decides his great calling in life is to help end grammatical and spelling errors, so he embarks on a cross-country trek to find and eradicate typos. All is well, until a stop at the Grand Canyon lands him with a court summons for violating “criminal statues”. It’s a quick read, more entertaining than anything else, and makes for some light reading when you want a break from anything too serious. And some of the stories are pretty funny, especially the different ways people react to him pointing out the errors.
