Our invitations went out last week and a few RSVP’s have already started coming in!
I just wanted to say I am so glad I went with online RSVP’s! I created a document through Google Docs and it automatically updates whenever someone fills out the RSVP form.
A lot of other brides I talked to (and some friends) were like “aww, but it’s so fun to get an RSVP in the mail.” Well I’m here to tell you it’s JUST as fun to get an email saying someone has RSVP’ed 🙂 And the fact that my spreadsheet is automatically updated for me is just icing on the cake. Oh the power of Google!
Definitely happy I went with the online option. Just a Public Service Announcement for any brides on the fence about it!!

Ooooo thank you! I am doing RSVPs via my GoogleSite as well. I was a bit nervous about people not doing it since it’s online — it’s good to hear that people are using it! And YAY for saving all that paper and postage money! 🙂

We’re going this route, I really wanted to get real mail but the $ saved and the ease is so much butter.
Do you have a website set up on Google where your guests RSVP? Is it your wedding website? I had tried out WeddingWire but I am not really liking how their RSVP section works, I have to enter all of my contacts individually instead of using my current spreadsheet.

This may totally sound like a dumb question, but how do you know who’s RSVPd? Do they enter their name or check off a list? I don’t completely understand it.

Good for you! I’m going the mail route because most of our guests are………senior, but that’s very cool that it works so well! The times are a changin’. 🙂

I just used email/mail but I loved it too!
The best part was, you didn’t just get them once a day (when you pick up mail), they’d come all throughout the day, which is great if you are impatient like me!

@Ms. Martian: I ended up doing a self-hosted website through wordpress and Google made it super easy to create a form and then upload it to a page on my website. Here is a blog post about it on Google’s blog: http://googledocs.blogspot.com/2009/12/template-spotlight-party-rsvp-form.html
Will Wedding Wire let you upload your own RSVP form?

@MmeSilverBullet: Here is an example on a Google blog. It is just an online form that someone fills out and then the information is automatically populated into a spreadsheet also hosted through Google Docs. I also get an email everytime someone has filled out the form!

@girlwiththeredhair: Great! Thanks! I will check that out. I have no idea if Wedding Wire has an option to upload a template but I will see.
