Soak it all in right now! You will mess the HELL out of wedding planning after the whole day is said & over with. I once read somewhere that someone told this girl, on the wedding day, to sit back & enjoy the day to the fullest and remember EVERY detail…I remember her saying that’s exactly what she did & I wish that’s what I would’ve done! It goes by SO fast you wish you could do it all over again! It’s one AMAZING day out of your life, but the part you’re going to remember and enjoy the most, too, is planning the whole thing.
So, don’t get frustrated because your day is 5 months away, 8 months away, etc. Because you will miss it SO MUCH after it’s done & over with. I have NOTHING to do now! Seriously! I’ve gotta find a *goal* to have now because for a year & a half that’s all I was working towards…a goal…my wedding. So, I’ve got to find something to do!! Maybe think about building our home…decorate the apartment we’re living in now…plan a vacation in a year…buy a shirt from VS so I have something to look forward to coming in the mail!
It’s such a bummer, so soak it all in ladies, and have fun with it…you will miss it so much after it’s gone. I’ve seriously gotten depressed thinking about it!
Anyway, hope you ladies are having a wonderful weekend!! 🙂

Aww thanks for the encouragement! I’m kind of in that stage where I’m stressed, tired of drama, and feeling like everything just can’t possibly get done in time. I wish I had time to relax and enjoy my man, read, watch movies, hang out with friends, think about non-wedding things…but I just don’t! Every free moment I’m not at work, I’m doing wedding stuff (and lets be honest…I spend a lot of the work day working on wedding, too!)
So thanks – its nice to hear that I actually will miss this time and all the anticipation. I’ll do my best to soak it up while I can =)

@farmersdaughter: Girl, that is all I did too! During the day I was stuck on stylemepretty.com, southernweddings & every website I could think of! Now I have absolutely no reason to go to any of those sites anymore & I wish I did!
You do miss it, and trust me I know exactly how you feel. For most of the time planning the wedding I was way overloaded myself with school, work, planning, etc. It’s crazy how much it takes but you WILL miss it!

@TheRen: I loveee it!! Seeing that ring on my man’s finger makes me smile 🙂 & it’s SO crazy calling him my husband!!! I never wanted to jinks it & call him my husband before hand so now I’ve gotta go from Fiance to Husband & it is CRAZY! He is used to calling me his wifey though because that’s always what he had listed as me in his phone. But I love it! My favorite part is telling the lady at the sales desk…”Oh, you’ll have to change that last name to Lee now :)”

I was just thinking that this morning and wondering what the hell I was going to do with myself after the wedding. I haven’t the slightist idea.

I”m glad you said that girl cuz I am so ready for it to be here. But now that you said that, after the wedding I’m gonna have a lot of time on my hands. I’ll have to sit at my deak at work and really do work. *Sigh* I think I may go back to school. That’s what I always do when I’m bored. We just bought a house to so I’ll just dedicate some time to the remodel.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the married life. You guys looked so great in all your pics, wedding and moon.

I was thinking about this last night. We are less than 3 weeks out and I am just wanting it to be here already, but we had our last shower yesterday and it went by so fast and I didn’t soak it up like I should, so it really made me want to plan to really take in the day when it comes. Thanks so much for the advice tho, I am going to enjoy every moment.

Lees, good ideas you have…decorate, plan a trip, etc. That’s what I’m sure I’ll do after our wedding too. Will have to find things to replace all the wedding planning time! I’m trying so hard to enjoy it, but honestly I’m just ready for it to be here already! But I’m going to soak in the wedding day and just enjoy every second since I know it will fly by so quickly. 🙂

I’m right there with you ladies! & if you drink…DON’T DRINK TOO MUCH! I was so so nervous & drank too much way before the ceremony so now I’m waiting for pictures so I can remember some parts! 🙁 It was the kind of drinking where I was drinking, drinking, drinking & it didn’t hit me until RIGHT before I walked down the aisle. Goodness!
But yes married life is AMAZING, and you’ll always remember and miss the planning process, and the best day of your life is something you’ll always want to remember, so walk to every corner during your wedding day, go to every table & talk to people, look at every centerpiece, try EVERYTHING on the menu, just look & remember EVERY possible detail…because I didn’t! 🙁 And have fun during the planning process…bc if you get stressed just remember how beautiful your day is going to turn out BECAUSE of this stress…it will all be worth it!

Thanks for the encouragement! I am trying to enjoy it the best I can. 🙂 Fortunately, I have other big milestones occurring in my life at the same time, so I am not putting all my energy into planning the wedding. Hopefully I won’t feel so much like something is “missing” after the fact!

thanks @Lees!! I’m still VERY far away from our date but i am enjoying the planning process very much and actually don’t wish it was here this october instead of next october. ( i have way too much to do ! ha! ) But you have such great advice to really enjoy the wedding day and look at every detail that you’ve worked so hard for.
Such a great post, thanks girl.

Ok, so my plan to deal with this is to start trying to get pregnant the night of the wedding! That was our plan anyway, we’re both in our 30s. Friday my Fiance was all, “What are you going to do after the wedding?” Refering to my love of Weddingbee, and I was like “There are baby websites too!” Does Weddingbee have offshoots for nests or babies? OR plans to expand?

I know what you mean. The day flew by and I barely remember most of it. It is all a big blur to me.
