DO NOT LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!
I had my Mirena put in last September, and ever since then my periods have been super light but unpredictable. I was therefore worried that I’d get it for my wedding, since my last period before my wedding was July 12th… 50 days before my wedding. Since they have been sproadic (sometimes it’ll be a month between them, sometimes way more) I am always on the alert. When did I end up getting it? At 11pm, during the last hour of my reception, while dancing in my big white dress. Where was my emergency kit? No one had any idea.
Now, my dress had 7 layers, and I now have a light period. But I know that if I had a different dress and had gotten married a year before I did, I would have been in major trouble!
So, moral of the story: definitely be prepared! If you have a day of emergency bag, make sure someone is definitely in charge of it. My mother had packed a box, but lost it when we got to the hotel. We didn’t find it until the morning after, when we were packing up.
