I wore mine down and curly with the front pinned back. It was RIDICULOUSLY hot the day we got married, but I dont think my hair made a difference. Btw I have lots of thick long hair that usually wont stay styled but a good hairstylist will be able to make anything hold 🙂

I wore mine down, curled with extensions and had just my long bangs pulled back in a bump. It looked amazing after it was done, and during the ceremony, and formal pictures. I planned to have it pulled up after all that, but my hairdresser (a friend) was sick with a cold and left after our ceremony. Being it was september in NC, not too hot, but humid, the curl fell out a lot throughout the reception. There’s a few pics of it that bug me, but really, I don’t regret it. Wearing my hair down made me feel the prettiest, and that’s exactly how I wanted to feel on my big day! 🙂

+1 yep me too. Looked great for the indoor ceremony but as soon as we hit the outdoors for pictures, the curls fell flat and went frizzy. I definitely wish I had done a low sideswept updo.

@buckeyebride0906: I got married in the end of July in Michigan, it was FREAKIN hot.
I chose to wear my hair up and felt great all day/night, while all of my bridesmaids wore theirs down. They were miserable and were re-curling their hair up until they walked down the aisle. Each one of my bridesmaids is now getting married and they’ve enacted a “Must have UpDo” rule for their girls so that the same thing doesnt happen on their days!
Just some food for thought =)

Mine was mostly down in loose curls and stayed pretty well for 12 hours. (All the hugging and dancing messed up the braid somewhat, but not the curls.) But it’s dry here. Long hair and humidity would kill me, I can’t stand that sweaty neck feeling!!

Thanks so much for all your help everyone! I do believe I’ll be wearing my hair up for the wedding and down for the rehearsal. It’s the best of both worlds!

I wore mine down and pinned slightly on the sides with a comb. It held pretty well but I did notice a difference at the end of the night but it was a humid day. Why don’t you do a trial of each and then look at the weather the week before and if you need to change to an updo you can. I would experiment with both styles before unless you are ok with taking a chance! I felt more me with my hair down so going with it up wasn’t an option for me really!
