do you worry about stones falling out/not having a warranty?
We’ve picked out a ring from etsy – but it won’t (i don’t think) come with any sort of warranty, and since it’s a pave halo, i’ve heard of stones falling out. if it happened (this seller has impeccable feedback which all rave about the craftsmanship) i don’t think a small stone like that would be too much money, but is it something i should worry about?
I’d love to hear from some bees who’ve bought off etsy – how do you handle upkeep? do you take your e ring to a jeweler to check prongs etc?

My Fiance and I bought my ring from Etsy but I’ve only had it about a month 🙂 It does come with a one year warranty but I know that they offer very reasonable prices for any repairs in the future. This was something that initially concerned me but I’m honestly not too worried about it. My ring does have pave stones and so far I haven’t had any problems. I guess only time will tell!

My ring is from EidelPrecious.
I actually DID have a tiny diamond fall out! I was cleaning dishes and my hands were soapy… I shook my hands just a little and the ring (which was a little big) flew and hit the hard floor. Yikes… Everything looked fine, but a tiny diamond fell out. Thankfully, we were able to find it.
When I took it to the jeweler they said because the ring had been resized the stones were looser. I obviously needed it sized down again, so when they did it they made sure that they tightened the prongs. Its been fine since and I honestly think it will be fine as long as I don’t throw it around anymore! The jeweler said a new diamond would have been around $40.
I think that I will take my ring to be checked every now and again. I haven’t had it appraised, so I don’t have insurance yet. But if you have insurance then you shouldn’t have to worry too much.
^It was one of those little stones on the band.

thanks to both of you! i think that as long as repairs so inexpensive (40 dollars!? ha!) everything will be fine 🙂
and you’re right about insurance, i’ll just make sure that we’re covered! thanks again!

@YogaFaerie: I got my bring from there too!
i actually stepped on mine accidentally when moving :(. But I brought it to a jeweler and it was fixed no problem. Prongs are good, and it’s been great ever since! very well made

@peonyinlove: Yeah, they aren’t too bad. A new diamond would be around $40 for one as small as the ones I have, and to repair the prongs/put the diamond back in it was $60. It was actually more expensive at my jeweler to have the ring resized than to get it fixed. And I can imagine that unless I drop my ring again, I won’t have a problem for a while.
@bndmusicfactory: That’s so scary!!! I’m glad your ring was okay though. Its beautiful!!!
