I currently live over 16,000 miles from my family. It can be hard but you get used to it plus they are only a flight away if you want to have a visit or decide to move home 🙂

I’ve lived 2000-3000 miles from family since I was 17 (am 29 now). It’s not a big deal, and it fosters a lot of independence and adventuresome spirit. It’ll be good for you!

Darling Husband and I moved from CA to NC the day after our wedding. It hasn’t been easy, especially now that we’re having a baby and it would be nice to have family to help out, but we keep in touch with family with FaceTime on our phones and texting. We’ve only been out here for a month, so we’re still transitioning.

I live about 9000 miles from home, away from family. I love them, but I’m not very attached to them. however, Google Voice and Skype have been great 🙂

I’m one state away from my family now (6 hour drive) but we’re moving to the East Coast in a few months and they’re in CA so we’ll be as far as possible in the US. It’s kind of tough, but we see them several times a year and talk on the phone a lot. We’re hoping to move back to CA in a few years, but who knows what will happen. A lot of people (most people?) live in different states than their family. When you grow up and start a family of your own, it just happens.
