@loveinthelibrary:  Some of my favorite shots were in one of my fiance’s button down shirts with a pair of boyshorts that he loves. I wore my glasses and laid with books scattered around me. It was very us.

I also loved some of the ones where I was just wearing my veil, garer, and white undies. As my friend put it ‘you look like a topless princess’ HAHA

It was tons of fun. You’ll love it. The shots came out super classy even though I used the word topless and it may worry some people if you have the right photographer it will NOT look trashy.

@loveinthelibrary:  I did one and I loved doing the more oversized sweaters, cozy blankets but the more covering lingerie like corset, lace boyshorts and thigh high stockings. I still felt sexy but covered enough that I could just have fun and toward the end I had confidence to do more revealing stuff.

@loveinthelibrary:  I did some photos for Mr. H last Valentine’s Day…it was SO much fun! I wore some of his favorite undies of mine, and some awesome heels. He loved them! I had the same apprehensions you do: Will the look good? What if I look fat? What if I look uncomfortable?

Girl. Once you get going, you’re going to look amazing and relaxed because it’s fun! Plus, I figure that my man has already seen all there is to see of me, and I’m pretty sure it hasn’t always been flattering in real life. I mean, think about your sexy time (if you’re having sexy time before the wedding); sometimes when you’re doing your thing, you might be leaned over or scrunched up or whatever and he still lovvvveessss you! So a photo will be you in the most flattering light. Own it, lady! πŸ™‚

I did one.  I wore some bra/panty sets, a nightie type of thing, and a open button down shirt/tie combo.  I owned the last 2 items already (well the tie/shirt was DHs) and I just bought a few new bra sets from VS.  Also bring necklaces.  Big, long, or chunky necklaces or jewelry look great and give you something to play with.  I did most of mine barefoot but you can look at some shoes or boots too.

I didn’t do any wedding-related items.

I had 3 outfits. My favorite was my corset, below, without the embellishment and skirt. Pic is sadly not me, lol.

First off, try to relax. Your photographer will know the best abgles to make your body look the best.

For outfits, boy short panties are always cute, or like others suggestions, one of FI’s shirt. Lingerie always looks a little cheesy to me, like its not as natural. Bra and panties are always a good way to start and they will help you open up. Bring cute heals and accessories

@loveinthelibrary:  I’ve done boudoir before, and I’ve got quite a few tips. If you really want to do it all out- Pamper yourself before, get a massage the day before to relax since it’s your first photo session like this. eat healthy, drink lots of water, and exercise strictly at least a month before the pictures. I personally do an ab workout to tighten my muscles.

Find some music that makes you feel sexy and fun and bring that to the shoot. Practice your sexy poses in the mirror and see what kind of poses look best on you. That will help reduce the anxiety of …’what am I supposed to do?’

Make sure your nails and toes look nice and are not chipped. That will make or break a picture.

Hire a makeup and hair artist that has specifically done photoshoots. You need a lot more hair and makeup than you think.

I like the look of corsets with garters, and stockings in general. I kind of go against large sweaters and men’s tshirts because it can add the look of ‘mass’, and when you get the pictures back you don’t want to feel fat. Look at GQ and pictures of what you like for boudoir, and choose outfits that are similar to what you like.

Talk to your photographer, most of all.

Have fun!!!!! πŸ™‚ It’s a great, confidence boosting experience.

totally unrelated but what’s the difference? I thought bras and panties were lingerie!?

One good tip I read: wear loose clothing to bed and that morning, so you don’t have visible imprint lines on your skin!

I had three outfits: one of DH’s shirts, a black bra and boyshort set with thigh-highs and heels, and a semi-transparent pink and black teddy with matching panties.

Also, I definitely agree with PPs who said bring a necklace–some of my favorite photos are ones where I’m playing with the long fake-pearl necklace I brought.

And also definitely go heavier than you think on the makeup! I DIYed it, and I look cray-cray in person, but totally normal in the pics! Here’s a pic of my hair and makeup (it was a very soft, natural light look for the shoot):

How fun! I did one of these a few years ago! I wore 3 outfits: pink lace bodysuit, black lace panties with tshirt, sexy maid outfit. Of these I soooo regret the sexy maid outfit. Ugh. My favorite ended up being the tshirt and panties bc I wore the tshirt I had the day I met my husband! It has a picture of a horse on it (It was an animal tshirt trolley party, dont ask) so I paired it with cowboy boots that I bought for our “western” party. I love thos pics so much!

Some tips:

1. practice holding your boobs in the mirror. I look goofy in mine bc my goal was max coverage, not what photographs well. try holding them with your hands positioned almost like a bird shadow puppt

2. Go for the fake eyelashes if you’re cool with those, such a great effect!

3. My photographer recommended I dont have more than 1 glass of wine beforehand bc with the 2nd glass the redness in your eyes starts to show! I kept that in mind for the wedding too! I ended up not drinking at all before the shoot.

4. HAVE FUN! and don’t worry, these things usually offer a bit of photoshopping for trouble areas. only about 20% of my album was photoshopped bc in the end I wanted a real representation of me in it but still it helped to know that going in!

And now here are a few of my favorites. We;re all girls here right? Is this going to get flagged? it’s no worse than a bathing suit!!! You can see my face in one but it’s such an awkward angle, plus I’m not running for office any time soon. For the record I’m 5’1 and about 135, so I’m no “model” but I loved how I looked here!

EDIT: I deleted the one of my face! eek! haha

@loveinthelibrary:  my biggest tip is make sure you bring lingerie you’re comfortable  in! I say that bc if youre comfortable in it, it makes you feel more sexy! I brought about 6 different outfits, heels, And jewelry and letter photographer choose what I was wearing. I was actually surprised how comfortable the photographer made me feel and how much fun I had with it!  These are two of my favs πŸ™‚

@loveinthelibrary:  I wore his favorite buttoned down shirt with black bra/panty set underneith (shirt was clipped in the back bc it was huge). A also wore a blue lingerie set. And a green set my friend MADE for me! She’s an aspiring Victorias Secret bra designer. Here are a few photos… I wish I could show my face, I feel like they really make the photos great… but I want to remain anonymous.

Good luck with your shoot! πŸ™‚

I just got mine in for VS a few days ago!! I ordered 4 different items.  Take a look at their clearance and sales.  I only spent about $150 for all 4.  I’ve haven’t tried them on yet so I’m not sure what I am keeping but I wanted options.  I have a couple covered, sweet options, a more sexy option and an in-between option.  I’m also ordering a cheap veil off lightinthebox.com for the shoot.  I agree with PP that some of the best pics are not in actual lingerie.  I like the idea of just a white button down oxford but look around and check with your photographer to see how many outfit changes you are allowed.  Some photogs limit this.
