Im paying for my girls hair and said my make up artist will be there but if they want that then they have to pay for that themselves, and 5/5 bridesmaids want the makeup lol so its a good day for the makeup lady!

I had six BMs and hair/makeup was completely optional and at their own expense.  One did her own hair & makeup.  One had hair done professionally but did her own makeup.  And the other four chose to have both hair and makeup done professionally.

As someone who is in a wedding next month where the bride has said that “professional hair and makeup [at my own expense] is a requirement for participating in [her] wedding,” I definitely don’t appreciate it when it is required but not funded by the bride & groom.  I see personal grooming as a personal choice so I’d be ok with you letting me know that the vendors are there if I’d like to use them at my expense but that it is certainly not required.

All my girls did it, I had 3. They all wanted to and were fine paying for themselves. I ended up finding someone local to my venue (semi-dw) so there was no travel fee and she was ridiculously affordable. $150 for MY hair and make-up, and $75 for the bridesmaids.

We all did our own makeup and my friend did our hair for us and I paid her.

I offered to pay half. Of my 8 bridesmaids, 2 are doing hair and makeup, 3 are doing just hair, 1 is doing just makeup, and 2 aren’t doing either.

I have seven BMs and 2 FGs. Of that, four and one Flower Girl are getting hair done and three are getting make up.

If you are requiring them to get their hair and make up done, you should be the one to pay. Sorry. But you shouldn’t require it unless you’re shelling out the money. And it’s not a gift. It’s for your wedding. That being said, everytime I’ve been given the option, I’ve preferred to either do my own make up, or have my BFF do it for me. In the past, when a make up artist has done it for me, I’ve ended up washing it off.

My hair, it depends. I’ve had friends, and I’ve had professionals. But then, my hair is on the easier side to deal with. I’ve been in weddings where girls paid to have their hair done, and the hair dresser was unfamiliar with different types of hair and it was a semi disaster.

Im not paying for my girls but im also not expecting them to have it professionally done. Im really laid back with it all and Im letting them choose every aspect. If they dont use a professional and they feel beautuful then im happy with how they look. Theyre going to wait and see how my hair looks after my trial to see if they want to book or not.

I told my girls that it was optional if they wanted hair and make up and they all ended up getting them both. I didn’t pay for them but I got them all personalized bags and gifts for being my maids 😊

4/4 of my bridesmaids are choosing to have pro hair and makeup, same with my mum. I told them it was optional and that I would do my best to get the best price for them.

I actually didn’t ask my BM’s if they wanted to do their own makeup because I’m paying for it 😛 My BM’s didn’t mind at all that they weren’t asked lol
