Did anyone who wore their hair to the side have issues with pictures and the photographer not photgraphing you on the “right” side? I had my hair done when I stood up in a wedding to the side. Every single picture that the photographer put me in was taken from the side that didn’t show my hairdo. So all my pics look like my hair is just pulled back, which is not flattering on me. I want to wear my hair in a messy, low side “updo”, but I’m afraid of having to worry about being photgraphed on my “best side.” Did anyone have this experience? I just felt like that photographer should have known. Idk, Maybe I’m the crazy one, haha.

I never thought of this! I plan on having a side do, so now I know to discuss this with the photographer. Thanks!

Well my best side is my right side. That’s the side I try to be photographed from so that’s the side i’ll be having my side do on. (and I’ll let the photographer know in advance.)

This happened to one of my bridesmaids – there are many shots of her from the wrong side and it looks kind of ridiculous! I would just talk to your photographer about this or make sure that is isnt SO to the side

Yeah I noticed it was something that kind of bothered me in some of the pics. Definitely bring it up with your photographer so they have a heads up.

I had a low side messy bun and it was fine. When you’re the bride it’s different. They’ll have pictures of you from ALL angles. 🙂

I had mine in a low side bun with a flower and some of my favorite pics were with my bun facing the other way. My photog also said that side updo’s are better for photographing so that all of the pics from the front doesn’t look like your hair is just slicked back.

hmmm i had never thought of this. i plan on doing the low side do as well. i think gerbera makes a really good point though, that when you’re the bride there will be a million pictures of you from ALL angles (as opposed to when you’re a Bridesmaid or Best Man and not the star of the show). definitely something to mention to your photographer though.
