Negative 1???

Pretty dress.  How similar is the fit?

Just a quick ps.  I think a lot of girls think of Maggie as making affordable dresses.  I just didn’t want the brand to come across as being super expensive or nearly comparable in price to Vera or Monique because it’s definitely not.

Wow!!!!  I didn’t know Davinci made this dress!!  If I would have known that I would have ordered that one.  I ordered the Adorae and almost BROKE my wallet……so, I am glad to hear that their is another one out there like it that brides can purchase and not have to go through the stress of the budget……Please post pics when you get a chance Smile

GORGEOUS!!!!  and very awesome you found the gown you want for a FRACTION of the price!!!!!

@15happyyears: there ARE differences, otherwise it’d be illegal and an infringement.  but they’re so subtle and you have to look close to see it, you can’t really tell the difference.  (No offense, meant!  it’s just, I’m an artist and can really SEE differences.  I was always great at those pictures where you’re supposed to find what’s different… sorry!)

@Zinzerena: is it the case that design copying (not monogram or mark) is illegal?  May be wrong, but I think not.  I know that CFDA and other groups are in hot pursuit of legislation/case law but I don’t think any court has banned outright copying of a design.

Its not illegal to copy a design because its almost impossible to prove that any clothing design is truly original (hence the existence of forever 21). It is illegal to use designer logos and pass fakes off as the real thing.

@katieebee:  YAYYYYYYYYY! I am so glad I could help!! 🙂  You have made my day!  I would love to see photos of you in it if they allowed you to take pictures (and if you want to share).

For what it’s worth to the other bees, the two dresses are the same silhouette, and the most drastic difference is in the “belt” – the Davinci dress’ belt looks more like a double-belt.  But I’m sure Katieebee can tell us all about it!

I’m so stoked for you!

Davinci is a pretty awesome brand :). I looked at a few of theirs and they seemed really well made, too.

Whoah this post title was dramatic… I was expecting something contraversial like ordering Chinese knock-offs, haha! Good for you katiebee, you shopped around and got just the style you were looking for, at half price! Pretty cool. I don’t see anything wrong with dressmakers creating very similar styles… to me, there is very little true originality when it comes to any kind of fashion, bridal or otherwise.
