@blushpinkbride:  My current e-ring cost about half of what the first one did. I picked both of them out. But at the time of my first engagement I was young and stupid (he really couldn’t afford what I picked out) and I had a billion pre-conceived notions. This time around I just picked what I liked within his budget (which this time around we fully discussed ahead of time).

Sometimes that bratty little girl pops into my head and I wish I had some 2 carat stunner that everyone would be jealous of. But the fact is that we’re just couldn’t ever afford to waste money like that. We have kids to feed and bills to pay. Our heads are above water, but to spend that kind of money on a ring and put ourselves in such a precarious position would just be irresponsible on our parts. And anyway, I love my ring. 🙂

    For referrence…

I don’t have an actual pic of my first set, but I found this online and it’s pretty much identical except mine had 6 prongs

    And my current

My first engagement ring was my mothers. We didn’t have the money, & I loved the ring so it was cool.

The engagement my love gave me ttr is a blue sapphire & diamond ring. It’s beautiful & it’s ALL MINE!!! I love it!
