I finally tried this out on a CZ and marcasite ring. I believe I bought this ring sometime between 1997-1999, if that matters. One of the marcasite stones fell out a long time ago. I baked the ring in a toaster oven set to 400ºF. I put the ring inside right when I turned the oven on on top of the metal tray that comes with the oven. I baked it twice, each time for one hour and each time I just left the ring in there until it was completely cool. I do see a difference. It doesn’t look as “glassy” or “plasticky” as before. I also did clean the ring beforehand with just soap and water and a toothbrush (not super thoroughly). The baking did turn the silver yellow, but I believe that will brighten back up with a polishing cloth. I would totally do this again with other CZ rings I have.
