We were talking about it with my sister ( who did get drunk at the end of the reception but she was still articulate, she always is ) . My mother told me ” as long as you don’t get drunk before the ceremony , it’s ok ” lol.. I ve seen all kiinds of brides through time and lots of them did get drunk while others not so much..
So married bees, did you manage to stay sober through the whole day? 🙂
edit: The not married one, do you plan to?

Yeah, I didn’t have time to drink. I think I had a few drinks brought to me, but I had one or two sips before i had to move on to something else. I wish I had time to enjoy some of that alcohol we paid for!!

I wouldn’t have minded being a little bit tipsy (and with all the champagne at the ceremony and wine served at dinner I’m sure I would have been!). Buttttt….I was pregnant, so totally sober the entire time!

DH and I both got drunk, not enough to black out, but we were feeling it the next day.

I was so thirsty that all I could drink was water. The bar kept offering me drinks, and I just didn’t have the stomach for alcohol. I wouldn’t have wanted to be drunk, but I wouldn’t have minded being a little tipsy, but it didn’t happen. I think the only alcohol I had was the champagne toast! Plenty of guests had plenty to drink, though!

I plan on drinking for sure! I don’t think I’ll get drunk though, I do want to remember as much as I can 🙂

I did! LOL i got two drinks from the bar that night and misplaced both of them. After that I stopped trying. My husband drank enough for both of us 😛

No I didn’t. I was SO thirsty by the time the reception came I was mostly drinking water! Alcohol was not appealing.

Thanks to a couple glasses of celebratory champagne on an empty stomach while getting ready, I was mildly tipsy for our ceremony. I think it really helped with the nerves, though! My DH thinks it’s hilarious because I don’t really drink much at all.

DH and I didn’t get drunk. We actually barely drank at all that day. We wanted to soak in our surroundings and we have plenty of fun and we can’t cut loose without drinking anyway. I was happy with our decision.

I think that I had maybe one glass of champagne while getting ready with the girls but once my hair/makeup started I couldn’t really drink/eat anything while they were working, obviously I didn’t drink during the ceremony and while I definitely was served a few drinks/wines with dinner I don’t think that I ever finished a full glass before someone grabbed me away to talk, or dance, or kiss DH or…. so in the end I was pretty sober all night
I did tossed a few back to try and catch up to all my guests at the after party …. but it seems like it was 5 minutes later that DH was taking me back to the room for our first night (in reality about 4 hrs… time honestly went by in a blink that night!)
so over all – no didn’t get drunk (and DH wasn’t either) but we are fairly regular drinkers so a glass of champagne, a wine with dinner and a vodka/seltzer or two over 18 hours (makeup started at 9 am and we went to “sleep” at 4 am) isn’t going to even give me a buzz
I was actually a little worried before the wedding since I really didn’t want to be drunk but in the end I was pretty much the furthest thing from it
