I was friends with a guy in high school who’s now an NHL goalie.  We don’t talk anymore, but I’m always proud of him when I see him on TV!

My husband’s family is good friends with an ex NHL player, turned coach.

But when you’re from Canada, who doesn’t have some degree of separation with someone who has been/is in the NHL?

My dad was an extra on the X-Files (lol) and met the two main characters who’s names have escaped me and I’m too lazy to google.

I went to high school with Nina Dobrev, and was pretty close friends with her high school boyfriend so we were at a lot of the same parties.

I haven’t, but my dad has met a good chunk! He started off in advertising and was partly responsible for creating advertisements for Bon Jovi’s ‘Slippery When Wet’ album (when he was first starting off). They were supposed to stack amps in the back of my fathers car and have the guys in the front seat, but it started raining, so the shoot had to be moved inside a hotel room. But my dad actually got a letter in the mail from Jovi inviting him to some party, and my dad STILL had the letter to this day. My dad doesn’t think it was that cool, but I tell every Bon Jovi fan. Through the years (and some odd career changes) my dad has also met Alicia Keys (said she was so nice) and Rachel Ray (said she was horribly rude, arrogant, and so overall awful). 

I’ll just have to live through my fathers interactions, as if they were my own 😉

Oh, another one… back in college, I was good friends/suitemates with a girl whose brother now plays in the NHL for the Blues. I met him when he was still in high school.

This is the coolest thing I’ve ever read. LOL Seriously, though–I’m a huge fan. I must’ve watched Starman about 340 times if I didn’t watch it once! And CrazyHeart. And The Contender. Come to think of it, so many movies I own have him in it.
