My Future Mother-In-Law is always a guestzilla then gets “offended” and doesn’t come. For FI’s cousin her niece, she texted the bride and demanded she uninvite FI’s dad and step-mom. (FMIL and Future Father-In-Law didn’t divorce til the kids were adults, so he’s been in the cousins life for decades and has done business with the bride’s dad). When the Bride said no, Future Mother-In-Law texted her sister and told her her daughter was a spoiled brat and didn’t understand family. FMIL’s sister called Future Mother-In-Law and promptly told her she had no say and if she didn’t like it not to come. So she didn’t!

For our wedding, we’re having it where we met 3 hours away from her and where we just moved. She didn’t say congrats or anything when Fiance told her we were getting married, she said we were causing our guests great burden by having the wedding on the other side of the country. Yes, she thinks 3 hours away is too far to drive to see her youngest son get married. She’s a winner.

Ha! My only story is, 1 hour before the ceremony was set to begin, I got a phone call from a guest informing me that his date had cancelled on him and he was brining another girl. He asked me if I could change the name on the seating chart. I said no, and he asked if I could have my mom do it. I said no, because the names are in paint! He was like, “well is there any way to cover the old name or something?” At that point I just said no, sorry, goodbye, and hung up. Haha

kaitlyn4170 :  wow!!!!  That is unbelievable.

breatheandrelax :  I went to a wedding where a guest wore an actually wedding dress.  Not just a white dress, a white wedding dress with a train. Strangers in the hotel lobby where the reception was held were going up to her and congratulating her on her wedding and hotel employees were mistaking her for the bride.  Total guestzilla

Went to a wedding where a guest (actually part of the bridal party) brought a selfie stick and was waving it around on the dancefloor. Bride and groom didn’t seem to mind but I thought it was so obnoxious – there’s a reason they hired a wedding photographer!

kaitlyn4170 :  that’s insane! Did he not think you had better things to do the hour before the wedding?! Haha, I bet date #2 didn’t know about date #1 and he wanted to keep it that way.

cclove :  wt actual f!

We had guests at ours doing coke in plain sight in the venue. I actually didn’t notice (found out days later) and my poor Maid/Matron of Honor spent a big part of the night trying to get them to be less obvious and move it to the bathroom. She was so upset and stressed all night. I still don’t know if my parents or inlaws noticed and I’m too mortified to ask.

at my BFFs sisters wedding someone walked up to the bride and told her she didn’t like the food, didn’t like the weather, and thought the bride and groom had over paid for the venue. Also some of her extended  family made the photographer do multiple family portraits of them, and they refused to speak to the bride, groom or parents of either all night. Bold faced walked away from conversations. Their daughter was a bridesmaid and had been trouble the whole time leading up to it– it was so bizarre.

My wedding is in 10 days… and I really hope I don’t have any crazy stories like this to share after!

So far, we have already had a lot of guest issues just with the RSVP’s and seating chart but I think this actually may save the wedding day drama. Two of my aunts don’t get along, so one was not going to attend. Well yesterday, the Aunt who is attending got in an argument with her OWN SON and now is refusing to go to the wedding because she can’t be in the same room as him. Because she isn’t coming, the other Aunt is now attending. What a mess! I am glad that they are working out their issues and deciding not to come now though, so we don’t have some crazy story of how my Aunt punched my other Aunt in the face.

I guess I will be back here in 2 weeks and let you know! Following for entertainment (and to know what to be prepared for).

I have two stories, but they aren’t as bad as the other ones on this thread:

I had issues with one of my bridesmaids which I have mentioned on here before. At the reception she refused to speak to me, and got agressively drunk by 8pm and had to be taken to her hotel room…and didn’t even say goodbye. I missed it, but aparently she was trying to make a scene and be the centre of attention….she sort of got her wish because some of the guests were talking about it long into the night. I literally never saw or spoke to her again, and SHE deleted ME off of Facebook shortly after the wedding.

DH’s cousin broke up with his longterm girlfriend a few weeks before the wedding. They were trying to work things out, and nobody batted an eye when he still chose to bring her as his plus one. The got into a HUGE fight during dinner, and between the second and third course she was asked to leave by DH’s cousin. I’m glad he handled it himself before it escalated to the point where ‘other parties’ may have become involved. Then DH’s cousin proceeded to be a shit show all night. Drinking heavily and on his phone to his ex gf fighting.
