Darling Husband and I had a bit of a disagreement about a recent situation (not an angry argument, more back and forth banter). I won’t say who was on which side, but help us settle this WWYD!
You are visiting a large city for a few days (large city = parking nightmare) in a rental car, going to an evening party. You park in a spot that is borderline illegal (your bumper is a smidge over a red zone with a driveway). You return back to find that your car has been towed (there are no signs on the street saying it is a towaway zone). You find this out because a seemingly nice person on the street tells you that the owner of one of the apartment adjacent to the spot consistently calls to have cars parked there towed. Seething in anger, you walk away to catch a cab to the impound lot, only to see said nice person parking HIS car in the same spot, but blocking the driveway even MORE (it is unknown whether or not he is there momentarily or not, but it could be easily deduced that there is no neighbor who calls to get cars towed, that in fact, he himself did it. This, however, cannot not proven).
Go home and be mad at yourself for parking illegally
Go back to the same spot, impound phone number in hand, and upon discovering that the same aforementioned person is STILL parked in that spot, call and get THEIR ass towed
Go back to the same spot, and simply seeth at the fact that the random stranger is still in that illegal spot
In the midst of Darling Husband and my discussion, one of us fathomed that more people would circle back to exact vengeance than the other might guess. So who would do it?

@giru618: I would probably get the jerk towed because I’m like that, and I would also go home and kick myself for parking illegally (Which probably wouldn’t have happened in the first place because FH pretty much always drives and pretty much refuses to park on the street, he will not parallel park, if it’s not a lot he won’t park – and that’s a whole other arugment).

@giru618: As much as I would LOVE to call and get that douche nugget’s car towed, I’m a firm believer in what goes around comes around. Karma will bite him in the ass eventually. There’s no need to stoop to his level of suckiness! Go home, kick yourself, and move on =p

I would not go back, as that would take entirely too much of my time. But I would definitely treat myself to gummy bears. They take the sad away. 🙂

@giru618: I would most definitely be going back to get that car towed. I can’t see how this nice person that informed you of this nasty neighbor would tell you that cars routinely get towed from there and then proceed to park his car there. Seems a bit silly of him to do that. I would at least be going back to see if his car was in fact still there. If it was, I would be calling the tow people. I would like to think I would walk away but I would be so incredibly mad.

I think I’m more vengeful that I should be… Because I would first circle back to get his car towed and then I would go home and kick myself in the butt.
My Darling Husband would probably not let me do it though… 🙂
I don’t understand towing cars without a sign that it’s a towing zone. A ticket maybe? But totally towing your car?! That sucks so bad.

I’d probably get him towed.
I generally have no problem getting someone towed if they’re parked illegally (I’m disabled and if someone parks in a handicapped spot without a tag then I always call them in) so if the guy had me towed just so he could have that spot then yes, I’d have him towed out of spite. Merry Christmas lol.

@giru618: Oh get the jerk towed definitely.

@adoc86: +1, and I’d sit there so I could watch his car get towed.

@lovekiss: +1. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

I’d get the person towed. However this is from a person though who’s kind of crazy when it comes to stuff like that….I’ve keyed a car because they gave me a huge door ding. I was walking to my car and this guy pulls up next me, flings his door open and drills my driver’s side door. I kind of looked at him in disbelief…he just shut his door and walked the other way. I only had my brand new car for a few months. I think what made me so mad was I was parked out in the boonies because I was trying to be careful with it and it still got dinged! Grrr.

I have to say we both agree these responses are awesome (one of us is more smug than the other). Those who wish the hive ill, watch out!
@rosegoldie: !!! Especially for you

I would 100% get him towed with satisfaction.

@rosegoldie: Oh wow what a huge dick! Yah I would have definitely done the same thing. And written down his information and tried to claim it too.
